Translator's Footnotes: |
Dawin is Arabic. The Hebrew expression “La'asot Dawin(im)” is the parallel of the Yidish/Hebrew “Lehashvitz”. It means (both toghether): to show off and to make a fuss. In the present context “Ma hadawin shelach” means: “What's this snobbish behaviour of yours”. Of course the (male) singer is speaking to a woman. Sabonim (soap) means 'conformists'. It's the paralled of ‘Yeled tov Yerushalayim' or the slang ‘Chnun'. Falafel is the classic and cheap Israeli popular food. |

MA ‘N FA' SCENA, DAI! |
Occhio! Senti ‘st'opinione: Ma ‘n fa' scena, dai!
Ma ‘n fa' sce...
