I was thrilled to receive this song to add to our site. It has a lot of history and sentimentality for me, as my mother Vera Levin z"l used to sing it around the house and on car trips, and my beloved stepfather Akiva Rinat z"l used to quote phrases from the song all the time.

I dedicate this song to them and their blessed memories: their gifts to me were a love of Israel, its nature and its beauty, and a love of the wonderful language of modern Hebrew whose phrases can put a pang in your heart and uplift your soul.
