KSHENICHNAS ADAR
Bo’u vetir’u mar’eh bilti ragil Kol ha’ir shokeket mitzahalot vegil, Al gabei giraffe meraked hapil Im shoded hayam uve’ozno ‘agil.
Mi ro’eh poh melech uveyado sharvit? Mi ro’eh shikor shoteh min hachavit? Chatzotztrah toka’at zemer mebulbal, Vehara’ash hu mamash bilti nisbal.
Chor karpas vet’chelet, butz ve’argaman, Kol ha’ir zolelet et oznei Haman. Eizeh chag yafeh uvilti mesudar, Umetzaveh lismo’ach keshenichnas Adar?

WHEN ADAR COMES IN
Come and behold an unusual sight- The whole town’s pulsating with cheer and delight, On the giraffe’s back there’s an elephants dancing With a pirate with a ring in his ear.
Who can see the king, with scepter in his hand? Who can see the drunk, a-slurping from the cask? A trumpet blares a melody confusedly, And the noise is unbearable, truly!
White and sky blue linen hangings, held by finest white and purple cords: The whole town on Hamantaschen gorges. What festival, so lovely and disorderly, Commands from 1 Adar joviality?
