Just like an eagle swooping from the rocky hills,
And, like a flaming sword, the crimson sun above me
Is coloring the towers and the walls.

And all the rainbow colors rise around me,
And like a harp of many strings it gives delight,

And from the pine-treed hills, the shade is slowly creeping
Like a secret lover to the houses one by one,
And from the windows twinkle out in dazzling splendor
A thousand lights reflected from the silver moon.
