KING SAUL AND THE NECROMANCER

THE MAGIC OF KING SAUL

The sun set among the mountains
and the stars are shining up above
On a horse came King Saul
and turned in through the gate/
Stood by a path and asked
And in one of the houses
the light of a lantern shined/
burned suddenly
For here/
in it is where the necromancer lives.
He murmured to himself suddently/
he stood alone at the entrance.

The king spoke to the woman
And asked her name
I am the necromancer
"What magic can I do for you?"
Ho, ho...

In the little room/she rose
In the corner a saucepan
He saw the cauldron with smoke
coming out of it.

Suddenly he heard a strong voice:
"I am (prophet) Samuel"
"Did you come here
because God left you"?

The king spoke to the woman...

For God abandoned and left me,
Not in dreams and not in LIGHTS
To my questions, he did not answer me.

When the sun rose again
King Saul went back to his camp,
Tired from a sleepless night,
And felt a fear.
He remembered his youth,
The fragrances of ADANIM/AVANIM
And under the shade of the Pistacia tree
he wrote shepherds' poems.

The king spoke to the woman...
