SONG OF PEACE

Let the sun rise
light up the morning
The purest of prayers
will not bring us back

He whose candle was snuffed out
and was buried in the dust
bitter crying won't wake him up
and won't bring him back

Nobody will bring us back
from a dead and darkened pit
here,
neither the victory cheer
nor songs of praise will help

So just sing a song for peace
don't whisper a prayer
Just sing a song for peace
in a loud shout

Allow the sun to penetrate
through the flowers
don't look back
let go of those departed

Lift your eyes with hope
not through the rifles' sights
sing a song for love
and not for wars

Don't say the day will come
bring on that day -
because it is not a dream -
and in all the city squares
cheer only for peace!

SONG OF PEACE

Let the sun rise in the east,
and light the morning sky
The finest prayers will not revive
the ones who had to die.
And those whose flames have been put out,
lie buried in the earth,
Bitter wails won't wake them up,
cannot give them rebirth.
No one can restore us now,
return us from the grave.
And here there is no use for songs of victory
and praises for the brave.
Chorus:
So go and sing a song of Shalom -
don't whisper timid prayers.
Go out and shout a song of Shalom -
so everyone can hear.

Let the sunshine weave its way
through rainbow blooms of flowers.
Don't look back towards the past -
the dead no longer ours.
Lift your eyes with hope of life,
not sighting through a gun.
Sing a song of love and joy
and not of battles won.
Don't just say "A day will come";
go out and bring that day!
It's not a dream. In all the city streets and squares,
sing "Peace is
on its way!"

Chorus

CANTO ALLA PACE

Fate il sol salire in ciel,
il giorno illuminar,
ma non c'? preghiera che
ci pu? resuscitar.
Chi il suo lume ? spento ormai
e nella terra sta
nessun pianto amaro, sai,
giammai risveglier?.

Perci? cantate alla Pace, all'Amor,
non sussurrate, ma
chiamate forte la Pace, l'Amor,
La Pace che verr?!

Qui la luce no, non pu?
tra i fiori penetrar,
voi lasciateci, perci?
in pace riposar.
Non guardate nel mirino,
cantate per amar
e sognate di un mattino,
senza ammazzar!

No, non dite: "Il d? verr?...",
portatecelo voi!
Nelle piazze canter?
la Pace insieme a noi!

Perci? cantate...

CAN??O PARA A PAZ

Deixe o sol nascer
A manh? oferecer sua luz
A for?a da ora??o
N?o nos trar? de volta

Aquele cuja vela foi apagada
E foi levado pelo vento
Um choro n?o ir? acord?-lo
E n?o o trar? de volta

Ningu?m nos trar? de volta
De uma morte ou de um sofrimento
Aqui, nem a vit?ria sobreviver?
Nem canto de salva??o, e nem uma ora??o

Ent?o apenas cantem, cantem para a paz
N?o sussurem uma ora??o
Apenas cantem, cantem para a paz,
Num grito forte

Deixem o sol penetrar
Ao redor das flores
N?o olhe para tr?s
H? os que ainda caminham

Encha seus olhos de esperan?a
E n?o apenas de inten??o
Cantem uma can??o de amor,
E n?o uma can??o de guerra
