Aris San recorded "Boom Pam" based on a popular Greek 60's tune by Panos Gavalas "Bros gremos ke piso rema" (roughly translated as "Between a rock and a hard place").
There are some striking changes from the Greek original: instead of bouzouki, San plays electric guitar "bouzouki-style" and he also includes a small musical motif from the Oum Kalthoum classic "Inta Oumri", which is not on the Gavalas version.
In fact, "Boom pam" recently became a hit all over again:
