EVENING OF ROSES
Evening of roses Let's go out to the grove Myrrh, perfumes, and incense Are a threshold at your feet. The night falls slowly A breeze of roses blows Let me whisper a song to you quietly A song of love. At dawn, a dove is cooing Your hair is filled with dew Your lips to the morning are like a rose I'll pick it for myself.

Shoshan is actually Lily, not Rose, and so is called in the Italian translation. Shoshana (in the last stanza) can be intended also as a woman's name. It was translated as Gigliola in the Italian version.
There are 5 dances. Another is by Shlomo Bachar. Eliyahu Gamliel has a dance to the same music sung in Armenian, called Yarus. |

GIGLI LE PORTERAI |
Gigli le porterai venendo dalla città. Oro, incenso e mirra poserai dove lei passerà.
