MI HA'ISH

Psalm 34: 13-15

Mi-ha'ish, hechafetz chayim;
Ohev yamim, ohev yamim,
lir'ot tov.

Netzor leshon'cha meira';
Us'fateh'chah, midaber mirmah.
Sur mera' va'aseih-tov;
Bakesh shalom verodfeihu.

WHO IS THE MAN?

Literal translation

Who is the man, who desires life
And loves days,
to see good (in them)?

Guard your tongue from evil,
And your lips from speaking deception.
Turn away from evil and do good;
Seek peace and pursue it.

'The Psalms as Literature' translation

Who is the man who desires life,
who loves years of seeing good?

Guard your tongue from evil,
And your lips from speaking deceit.

Turn from evil and do good;
Seek peace and pursue it.
